About
Hi! I’m Christi. Thanks for reading Polka Spot Farm.
So this is the about page, so I guess you want to know a little about me. So here goes. I’m a single mom of three kids who inherited my father’s home place a few years back. Through a lot of twists and turns, I have become a stay at home, single parent and college student. This means that money is usually tight, but I get to enjoy my children 12 days at a time in the comfort of my own home. The next two days are considered Kidless Weekends around my home, when the kids are with their dad. On these weekends I enjoy sewing, knitting, painting and many other crafts.

During the week, we strive to live a more simple life. I’m a lover of Free Range Kids, but I guess we all have our own style of parenting. I am teaching my children to be independent by allowing them to make their own meals (with supervision) clean their own rooms and even help with the laundry (gasp!) The kids are allowed to free range outside, and even play in the mud when it rains (with no thunder and lightening of course)
We are a Christian family who loves to fellowship with the others in our small country church. We don’t attend every function for adults, but we try to do all of the things that is offered for the kids. My #1 goal in life is to have all of my children saved, and to bring their friends to Heaven with us when we go.
Living on a farm was not a lot of fun as a child for me, because I never liked getting hot. Guess what’s not changed? I still don’t like to get hot, but I love the outdoors. I don’t have a green thumb, but I’m determined to get one as soon as I have the patience. We do have chickens that are free range, and cows that are in the pasture. When we wake up every morning there are wild turkeys in the front yard and rabbits running everywhere. I love the farm.
Anyways, this blog is all about the winding path to finding our way on the farm. Living the simple life isn’t for everyone, but I’m trying it out to see if it fits, and so far it does. Follow me on my journey d
own this winding road.
