Mama’s Favorite iPhone Apps for Shopping

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

This series is all about helpful iPhone apps for moms. I have tried all of these apps out, and use them on a consistent basis. All prices are from the time of the post, they may change without notice.

Shopping Apps

If I’m out shopping for something and need to check a price on something, these are my favorite apps! Right now all of these apps are FREE! (that could change, so grab them up now!)

  • Amazon Mobile: With a barcode reader, you can check prices and even order straight from Amazon! I use this app not only to check prices, but also to check for reviews on products while I’m out shopping.
  • Ebay Mobile: You can buy or sell with Ebay apps! This is great for saving money, or making money! (Also check out Ebay Deals, Ebay Fashion and Ebay Selling apps!)
  • PayPal: So easy to check your balance or send payments! A must have for anyone who buys or sells on Ebay or takes PayPal payments of any kind.
  • BarcodeHero: Another great app for checking reviews on products.
  • RedLaser: Want to make a shopping list from your pantry? Use RedLaser not only to scan your canned goods, but check prices on them also (both local and online!).

Celebrating the Little Things

We like to celebrate by having the kids pick something for dinner. But this week, we really didn’t want to rock the budget so we decided to stick with eating at home. We totally stayed well within our 5.00 a person budget with DiGiorno pizza last night! Leftovers will be devoured this afternoon after school!

This past month we’ve had several small things that have come up. My daughter was picked as Star Student, lots of grades came up on her report card, and she even had a birthday. The boys have been hunting a lot, and one of them even bagged a big buck.

Normally I make my own pizzas, because there is no delivery here on the farm. Sometimes that’s just too labor intensive, and it takes a few hours to just make the dough.

Being able to pick up a frozen pizza that fits in my freezer, and keep something on hand for an impromptu celebration is something that every mom really needs to be able to do. The choices that are available are amazing too. The Rising Crust Pizza from DiGiorno is really our favorite choice, because its the closest we can find to our homemade pizza.

What’s better than homemade pizza? The taste without the time, work or cost!

Thanks to DiGiorno and Collective Bias for sponsoring this post and Whrrl. We can’t wait to have our next celebration just for a chance to eat more of this very yummylicious pizza!

Laundry Room Chaos

An organized laundry room is a dream of mine. Yep. Right now it looks like the dryer has exploded clothes everywhere..even on hangers.

I have 3 shelving units that just aren’t practical for what I need anymore. As many of you know, this was my mama and daddy’s house before my dad passed away and mama got remarried. So I kinda got leftovers. And a lot of their junk. I’m grateful, don’t get me wrong, but I still live with some bad organizing decisions that they made.

A lot of my laundry problems started when my laundry system just broke down. You know the kids doing their own laundry.  #epicfail Well at least when mama stops monitoring what they are washing. Ughh!

So I”m torn between me doing all the laundry, and having the kids do their own with adult supervision. I’m just sick of laundry being everywhere, and not put away where it should be.

So I’ll be testing 1 system at a time until I find something that works for us. I’m thinking that I need a hamper in each bathroom, plus each bedroom. Then have my basic ones in the laundry room to catch things their also. But not sure where the kids should come in.

The laundry room needs a makeover, big time. So its time to declutter it. Measure, and possibly build some shelving that works. How fun! lol

New Year’s Resolutions

Happy New Year everyone! Have you made any resolutions to get fit, lose weight, or maybe even get organized? Well if you have, you can join me right here for the next year on my journey.

Some of my goals for the year are:

  • Get into normal sized clothing
  • Run a 5K
  • Drink more water (primarily water)
  • Eat more veggies
  • Get my house organized, with systems that work for us.
  • Read the entire Bible.

I know that a lot of people have resolutions on January 1st, but they don’t have the tools to make those resolutions stick. Well I’ve thought about that for the last few months. Not really resolutions, but life changes.

Since I found some great resources to help me keep on track, I thought I’d share them with you here:

To keep my weightloss, and healthy living in order these are the things that I’ve found:

For my organizational needs:

If we share the same goals, I hope that you stick around to read more about how things go this year. Do you have any tips or ideas to share?
