Leftover Cake to Trifle
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
For Christmas I normally make a few cakes, one for each place we eat over the holidays. That can leave me with more leftover cake than I wish to have after having it everywhere else.
So this year I decided to take the leftover cake and make it into something different, a trifle.
Here’s a few pics and general instruction for you:
Recipe: Easy Trifle
Ingredients
- Half of a leftover cake, cut into cubes
- Prepared Mousse or Pudding Toffee Chips, crushed cookies, or other topping choice
- Reddi-Wip
Instructions
- Start with cake, and layer with mousse then topping of choice until bowl is full.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
- Top with Reddi-Whip when serving
Variations
Great choices for this recipe would be Angel food Cake, blueberries and whipped topping, or add strawberries for Independence day. Match your cake and toppings to your taste, just use what you have leftover from a big holiday and You will do great!

The last few weeks have been a blur. A broken arm, emergency rooms, apointments in the city. 18 hour drive to see my husband, snow…
Christmas plays and Thanksgiving meals in hotel rooms.
Then for the last 2 weeks its been a battle against my family with the flu. Ughh! Even my husband that’s a thousand miles away is having really bag nosebleeds.
I’ve seen more doctors than we normally see in a year.
Now I’m fighting the flu.
I promise to get back to normal one day. For now, have a wonderful Christmas!
