Husband’s Christmas Wishlist

We love our Big Green Egg, and wouldn’t trade it for anything (except maybe an XL Big Green Egg).  My husband is designing a cool new table out of cypress wood for both our Big Green Egg and my mom’s.

We grill out constantly. When 1001 Grill Covers contacted me, I was so excited to find cool covers for the Big Green Egg. Seriously, they have a huge following called the Egg Heads, but normally you can only find accessories directly from the manufacturer or their resellers.

It would suprise me if you had a grill that wouldn’t fit one of these awesome, NOT PLAIN black or green grill covers.

My favorite right now is the Banana Leaves for the long table, made for the Big Green Egg.

But I’m sure he’d choose something more like the Chili Peppers! LOL, that’s very much his personality. ‘

I know that anything I choose he will love, especially if it has anything to do with our Big Green Egg. That goes for my mom, sister, and 3 brother in laws.

They have so many styles and sizes that you can find something for your husband or even your dad. Try it out and see. If you are unsure, take a measuring tape and start measuring. Looking around for a few minutes, you should be able to find the perfect barbecue grill cover for your special man. And yeah, its time to get shopping for Christmas!

Heather, The MVP from Blog Internship

This is a Cross Blog Conversation (CBC) between me, and my friend Heather who is currently the intern for Schmoozins.

Blog InternshipHeather asks “So Christi what was the most valuable thing you learned while you were in Blog Internship and how are you putting it to use now?”

If I had to pick the MVP of the Blog Internship, its that there is help. Before I found the internship, I was on the search for knowledge about blogging, help for what I was doing wrong.

Now I know that there are people and resources out there that can help you with anything. You have to poke around some, and there are still a few things that I most certainly want to find help with, but its out there.

There are a lot of women out there that think they could never be a WAHM, because they don’t know where to start. I was that woman. I know that if I think of something, like how to make some extra Christmas money, I can find a way to do that now.

The next thing that really helped me, was the feedback on my writing. I now feel confident to write about nearly any subject. All I need is a few minutes of searching the net and reading on a topic, and I can write about it. This is saying something. I’ve never felt like a confident writer, but in those 10 weeks it really changed me.

So everything isn’t perfect on my blog, there’s always room for improvement. I’m getting there, with the help of what I learned from my internship, one babystep at a time!

Heather, that was a great question! It really made me think about what I’ve learned and what really was important. Now tell me this, what has been the most difficult part of your internship so far? I know that there were times that I struggled to get the topic, or to make deadlines. Can you explain how your week as an intern is laid out?

Talking With God

Last night I decided to grab a notebook and write down some ideas. Basically I’ve been putting this off lately but after spending too much time looking for this or that I decided that it was time.

After writing  3 or 4 pages of ideas and ideas about ideas I decided to settle down.

Well my heart wasn’t ready. Does that make sense? Have you ever had your heart not rest at night?

It wasn’t my mind. It was my heart.

I turned to a new page in my notebook and started writing to God. I spilled out my heart. About 2 pages in, I realized that God was talking through me, and writing through me in a way. Putting things in words that I haven’t been able to do.

My new catch phrase, “God is a genius, so ask him” was given to me by a great friend. She gives me so many messages from God. Its really the most amazing thing. She was praying with me just seconds before I met my husband after many years. (We knew each other as young teens).

God is preparing my husband and myself. He keeps showing me these pieces to the puzzle. They are small pieces and they are coming slowly. If they were coming faster we may be overwhelmed. God’s timing is so perfect.

At the closing of my prayers I saw a vision that I’ve seen so many times before. I put words to it last night. Its so exciting. This vision is so amazing. I’m so thankful for what I see, and what God has shared with me. One day I hope that I can share this with you. I hope that I can share this journey. But I think its too soon now.

Talking with God is so amazing sometimes. How he uses us as tools, how he molds us through tough times. I’m so much stronger now than I was a year and a half ago. Its like night and day. He’s tempered me with so many trials.

I just wanted to share some of this with you this morning, it was so intense last night. Writing for so long. Talking with God. Sharing with my husband. I can’t explain it all, but I wanted to share what I can.

I know that he has a plan for us.
