The Perfect Calendar

I see you've been here before, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed.

A few weeks back, I shared with you that I had ordered a new calender instead of my usual Flylady Calender. It came in. The only part that I’m not ecstatic about is the part where it took 2 weeks to arrive. That’s Amazon for you, but it was a great deal at under $15 with shipping!

As soon as it arrived I found a few features that I loved.

The first part that I love, the size of the boxes. Each month is 2 pages, and each day has a nice sized box to write in. Very nice when you have several things to write down.

2 Pages for 1 month

The second feature that I really really loved, a place for my menu on each day! Basically its the last space on each day, shaded in for your menu. Cool right?!

Huge Block with Dinner Menu on each Day

The third favorite feature? The last page has important information that you fill in. I should have taken a picture before I filled everything in, but you can guess right.

Emergency Phone Numbers and More page

The fourth thing that I really love more than almost everything else. That little page of stickers that comes with most calenders these days…is attached! like its the last page of the calendar, not yet another page of stickers that I won’t use because they are in my desk, or the kids swipe.

The stickers are attached!

Seriously, this is my favorite calender of all times! You should totally hop on over to Amazon and pick one up, because you need this!

Excuse the shoddy pics. I’m still getting use to my phone, and it does great pics most of the time! Check out more posts on WFMW.

How Has Clutter Taken Over Your Life?

Right now I want to purge. I feel like purging everything that I own. I need the money to sell things, but feel like God will bless me if I just give it all away.

Can any charity take everything that I have? Leave me with the essentials?

I just counted 5 colanders. Why do I need 5 colanders?! This has crossed my mine more than once this week.

What got me to thinking? This Article.

I know that my house is not nearly that bad. I don’t have anything stacked to the ceiling, not even on the top shelf of any closet.

There’s still clutter in every room of my house. Did I mention 5 colanders?

Sure there are things that we need more than one, but what are those things? Do we have numerous items because we can’t find them? I have an excuse for 5 colanders, but when I say it outloud it makes me want to toss them anyways. All of them but 2 I think, because they serve different purposes. But only 1 is needed strickly speaking.

I feel like purging, before someone comes to my house and finds my decaying body under a pile of clutter….

I Think I Need More Rose Colored Glasses

Pen, Diary and Glasses

Here lately, I’m not sure what’s going on with my head. Its like every time I try to focus on something I either have a headache or my eyes are hurting. I know what the inevitable is going to be. I need eyeglasses again.

A few years ago, I was the office manager of a retail store. We had an online store that I handled also. Basically it kept me stuck in front of the computer nearly 8 hours a day. Then at night, I would be online for personal reasons. That’s when I got my first pair of prescription eyeglasses.

I thought at the time, that the florescent lights had really messed with my eyes. The glare was horrible in that little office. So I walked down the street to have my eyes checked one morning, and bought my first pair of glasses.

What I found out later was that my allergies make my sight worse. That combined with the florescent lights really did me in. When I got back to the store that day, I had 2 new pair of prescription glasses. One pair was really cute black frames with pink lens which ended up being the ones I wore all the time.

I seriously loved my pink glasses! I really hope that my next pair are similar. I’m making an appointment soon to have my eyes checked again. I think age has a lot to do with it these days, but being in front of the computer for so many hours a day doesn’t help either. :)

I found a great place to get cute and inexpensive glasses at GlassesUSA, go check them out at their Facebook Page.

Heather, How I found Blog Internship

Today’s post is part of a Cross Blog Conversation with my friend Heather who is the intern for Schmoozins. Heather wrote a post directed to me, so that I can answer here over at Polka Spot Farm.

Heather asked,

…Since you recently finished Blog Internship I was wondering just where did you originally hear about it?  Funny thing I have never really asked you that but it crossed my mind today.  You are always so resourceful I am sure no answer will surprise me but my curious mind none the less is wondering.

And while I am at it what made you take the bait?  Why did you chase the worm and get hooked on the idea of Blog Internship?…

Funny you should ask! A few months ago I was so frustrated about the unknown of blogging. The big question was how to monetize my blog. With my husband loosing his job so many months ago, I really felt that I needed to find a way to make a little money and with others doing it from their blog I can too right?

So I started Googling, or Swagbucking rather. I seriously don’t know how I found them but somehow I found the Girly Gazette. I liked them on Facebook then one day they posted something about Marketing By Mom’s.

Marketing By Mom’s is a Ning group. There was a lot of talk on there about charging for posts and even reviews. I was like oh wow! I had never thought about doing something like that. So I kept reading for the next few weeks.

One day I found a mention of Kelly McCausey and her Stretch Yourself Challenge. I followed the link and signed up. I still didn’t know all that I was getting into.

The challenge intrigued me, and it still is. I”m still working on it, but postponed a lot of it after I was chosen for the internship.

Oh yeah, the Blogging Internship! Of course I started stalking Kelly on twitter, and reading up on her blogs. Well not all of them, I still have no idea how many blogs she has, I only know of maybe a dozen or so at this time, and a handfull of other websites (that all use WordPress, of course!)

I had been reading about the Blogging Internship, not really ever understanding what it was, and was shuffling money around to pay for the course myself.

Then all of a sudden, I saw a tweet about the Internship being open. I was like what?! It wasn’t always open?! So of course, I clicked the link. I found out that Kelly offers the internship on her own blogs, where you can write for her.

I thought about it for a while, and said what the heck! I’ll fill out the application, but there is no way I’ll be chosen.

Not long after that, a few days maybe, I received my first email from Kelly. There was a phone interview and I was assigned to intern at Family Foodies.

So that’s the story of how I found Blogging Internship.

So Heather, tell us about your blogging history, and what made you want to apply for the Blogging Internship.

-Christi

Now you can go over to Schmoozins to get the answers from Heather and see what she will ask me next in our Cross Blog Conversation.

Menu Plan Monday: Fail

Menu Plan Monday will be up later today or maybe tomorrow. After about 2 hours of sleep, my son woke me up with a horrible toothache. This is after 2 dentist appointments, and a week of Lortab and antibiotics. We ended up in the ER this morning.

He’s pain free and playing NES for the time being. Mama needs sleep before his appointment this afternoon with the dentist. Please keep him in your prayers.

On a side note, I think my fridge almost burned up last night. Its unplugged and we are using the 2nd fridge outside for essentials (although its freezing everything). I’ll deal with what I have to this evening when I’m more awake. I’ll have a clean and organized fridge whether or not its running tonight! lol

Boudreaux’s Butt Paste

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Boudreaux’s Butt Paste. All opinions are 100% mine.

I’ve never used Boudreaux’s Butt Paste but my husband has told me stories about it.

He often works in 130-140 degree environments where he wears jeans. The heat itself is bad enough, but mixing that with sweat and the friction from blue jeans you can imagine the chaffing he can get.

Several years back the chaffing was so bad that he could barely walk when he got home. He showered and grabbed the Boudreaux’s Butt Paste and used it. Wore the loosest most comfy thing he could find to sleep in that night.

The next morning there was no sign of chaffing! Amazing huh!

My husband keeps a tube of this stuff in his bag while traveling out of town, and one in our bathroom. The guy is never without this stuff!

When I asked him to tell me his story this is what he said:

130-140 degrees…jeans…rubbed raw…that stuff should be named “Miracle Butt Paste!”

Not only is this stuff great to use on your little one, but get a tube for your husband too. Its safe for their tender parts no matter what age!

I can only imagine how many sports “injuries” could be helped by this stuff too. I know its saved our “hide” a few times! Head on over to their site to get a sample!
