Just get rid of it
I was talking to my friend Amber today about things we’ve stashed in our houses. Many times these are things that are stashed that we don’t love, but we don’t want to let go and it causes us stress. The stress from lost space for your family, stress from finding a home for those items, stress from the clutter as a whole. Some of us have lost entire rooms to clutter, just as a holding spot.
Amber decided to just dump things in the garbage today. I’m like yep that always works. Things that you don’t use, haven’t used in a year or longer should go to charity or in the garbage. For us we both agree with trashing most of the things. When you store many things this way, just dumping them in a spot they need more effort in cleaning and finding a home for them than they are worth.
Throw it out. Even if its only one thing or a box of things a week, throw it out. Just get rid of it. If you loved it, it would already have a home or would have been used. I know that I have limited space for garbage, but at the end of each week I plan on using every inch of extra space in my garbage can for clutter.
I’m only donating things that we have outgrown and are in good shape. Who wants my clutter that hasn’t been used in years?
Now to ask Scott’s mother to use some of my yarn stash on her knitting machine for Christmas Presents. Shhh! Don’t tell anyone!
