13 things I love about Halloween



I know that I’m a Christian, but I love Halloween anyways. I have to think of things in a different light. I found a story once about the light from a Jack-o-lantern being like the Holy Spirit shining through the darkness, so yeah its not all bad, right?!

  1. Carving Jack-O-Lanterns
  2. Roasting pumpkin seeds
  3. Dressing up
  4. Theatrical makeup
  5. Fake spider webs
  6. fake blood
  7. all of the spooky food!
  8. Trick-or-treating
  9. Trunk-or-treating
  10. Hay Rides
  11. CHOCOLATE!!
  12. Decorating Inside and Out
  13. Smiling, glowing, and funny faces of the kids I see :)

    HALLOWEEN IS A FAVORITE AT MY HOUSE TOO!! I just finished decorating all the rooms…next week hubby'll get the outdoors done [I hope] My blog is all dressed up for Halloween too…

    We love Halloween here at our house! Costumes are well on their way to being assembled, house will be decorated this weekend, spooky cds will be playing soon, there will be popcorn balls and caramel apples. Already making plans to take the kids to the pumpkin patch and to “Zoo Boo.”

    I'm a Christian too, and I think that Halloween is only as bad as one makes it. I choose to celebrate it for many of the reasons you listed above. To me Halloween is kind of like alcohol…follow me here. ;-) The Bible never says alcohol is bad. It says drunkeness is bad. Halloween itself isn't bad. People who celebrate evil are bad. Does that make sense? I hope so!

    Great list by the way. I can't wait to roast some pumpkin seeds. I bought a jumbo pumpkin at Sam's Club, and I am curious to see how many seeds are in the pumpkin.

    Trunk or treating is a big thing here. There's not much walking door to door here because here in the country its just to far. So in comes trunk or treat. Locally the churches host these. Everyone parks their cars or sets up a table or booth. Decorate and the kids go from trunk to trunk instead of door to door. Its quite fun and a lof of kids show up all at once. Its safe and contained.We love it!
